The Department of Environment and Planning at the University of Aveiro has been working in the field of forest fire research for three decades. The knowledge and experience are very relevant with regard to the investigation and modelling of atmospheric processes related to forest fires, mainly regarding the emission and dispersion of smoke and the impact on the environment and human health.
